Greta is coming off of a tough week but is feeling much better. She was struggling with nausea and dehydration, requiring a few visits to the clinic for fluids. This was quickly followed by a major bloody nose that would not clot, (an expected side effect of chemo) which required yet another trip back to the hospital. Thankfully, she had VIP access from her amazing care team and was able to bypass the waiting room to go directly to a room for treatment. After a much-needed platelet transfusion she started looking and feeling much better.

The next morning the family rallied and were able to enjoy Greta’s official birthday party celebration (a joint party with Auntie Amy) along with Grandma and Papa! There were games, food and lots of laughs. The goal for the coming week is for Greta to put on some weight so she’s been enjoying delicious treats! She has two weeks of chemo ahead of her, during which time they should find out more information about surgical plans. Greta is anxious to get the cast off so we are all crossing our fingers that her fracture is healing and that chemo goes well.

8 weeks down and 21 to go! A big thank you to everyone for their birthday messages, gifts, encouraging messages and overall support. It is greatly appreciated!
