Not much to update this week for a great reason…everything went well!
Greta had a good week, making her counts on Monday to have outpatient chemo on Monday and Tuesday. While the infusions only take about 15 minutes, she and Alex spent most of day at the clinic on Monday because some hospital software upgrades caused delays; Tuesday’s infusion was much more efficient.
This week will be her last doxorubicin infusion - a drug which has previously made her incredibly nauseous. Alex and Sarah preemptively gave her anti-nausea, etc. meds to try to keep her “doped up” through the window for potential nausea. That seemed to do the trick and Greta slept a lot, but ate well and went for walks with Alex almost every day. This week she also had a follow-up prosthetics appointment on Thursday - all going well!
With fingers and toes crossed while knocking wood, we are still on track for her last chemo to be the week of August 12, with the idea that she’ll be able to go back to school when the new semester starts.
